Android Root

What Is Android Root

That wave q now have a little more time because I will explain as brief and understandable definition of root, bootloader, s-off, etc, there are many many guides on the internet but as this anyway as I'll explain my experience.

ROOT:

What is root?

As some know linux root is "root" can do whatever he wants in the system, change settings, delete protected files etc

Why is it important to many seek root or root?

It's very precious that lets you manipulate your device as you please and decide what you want to do your system, for example you install 10 applications and they are using as 3 followed the others not so much, the others are initialized at startup phone, use an application called autostart allowing us to disable applications either user or system so that no loading at startup, this avoids consuming memory and battery, and initially faster in serious windows go Start regedit or disable the startup of some apps

We can also change the settings /system/build.prop example system that manipulating (with caution) can get hacks as record 720, the longest scaneo of wifi to save battery, etc etc.

another edit configuration files for the gps make a faster "lock" changing the pool (which can make user firendly with gps fasterfix)

To use themes, remove "junk apps" telcel, or other operator

One of my favorites:

SetCPU for root, this app allows us to overclock our cpu making it faster (in particular I'm not used OC) but the interesting thing is the profiles, eg a profile cpu 400 mhz on conservative when the screen is off and we have no activity allows us to save battery.

Titanium Backup: This application should be included in all xD phones allows us to restore, support batch or app by app, very very useful when we "wipe" or clean factory, returning the application settings and the system itself, not even but we can tell you how to use it in certain ways to use free app payment: P

If I have root I can install "custom roms" ??

Depends, having root allows you to modify most of the system, on the other hand, many devices already have a check that can detect if Ines has been altered and does not start the system, also called "brick" or soft brick

Taking root can change many things about the system, except kernel and other files so.

What is root and perma-temp-root?

Perma root: root is that we still even after reboot.

Temp root: we root, but when normalmnente restart all system modifications we make are returned to their original state and lose root.

Bootloader

is the "bootloader" on Android this is responsible for starting the kernel and all necessary processes.

What is Unlocked Bootloader?

to install a Recovery, SO, we need a modified kernel or Bootloader "unlocked", why? that today's carriers ask manufacturers to put security on their devices, with an encrypted key

Without knowing this key we can not "digitally sign" the files needed to load the OS or kernel.

That is why it is so "precious" the bootlader normally to have perma root you need to modify the system so that the bootloader must be unlocked.

What's with the locked bootloader and custom roms ??

There are the "wraps" recoverys that are not "recoverys" by a bug in loading the bootloader or OS chain initiation, according to the manufacturer, which can be exploited to load the recovery work can "flash" zip's

Examples: kexec, charger method.

s-off

When you start in fastboot, we can see the S-ON security ON, with S-OFF will have unlocked the bootloader,

essentially s-off bootloader is unlocked, allowing installing recoverys,

What is Recovery? :

Android has a "recovery" to install zip, and delete data, it is not that functional, then here are the "custom reocvery" as ClockworkMod, TWP.

This allows us to perform backups, restore, delete cache, data, system, install custom kernels, ROMS etc.

In particular I think the root is something to do here in Mexico usually do root violates the warranty and is not valid, but because being honest always test a full my computer and then rooteo: P and unlock (good but rare I have one time or iusa telcel, I always buy from USA)

There are ways to restaruar to their original state, the most practical, rooting and usually always be "un rooting" or even rooting, check if there is a custom recovery, make a backup (backup) and have it on the pc when needed warranty and only restore or "desrooteamos"

Well I will continue updating this thread if you like to talk about something or let me know any questions
